Can you spare one hour a fortnight? Our Community Visitors Scheme needs you.

January 10, 2018

Our Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) needs your help to brighten an older person’s day!

There are residents in aged care homes across the Northern Beaches who are lonely and may not have family or friends living nearby.

CatholicCare is looking for volunteers who can spare an hour once a fortnight to bring friendship, have a chat and share a cuppa. You’ll be surprised by the joy you can bring!

Our one-on-one visiting scheme matches volunteers from the local community with residents who live in aged care facilities who have been identified as being socially isolated for various reasons and their quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship.

We place volunteers in most of the aged care homes on the Northern Beaches from Dee Why to Avalon.

The visiting times are very flexible and  volunteers need to commit to just one hour each fortnight. Orientation and ongoing training and support is provided. There is also an opportunity for social gatherings.
