Our professionally run programs focus on having fun, connecting with others and stimulating your brain. Programs are run at Waitara and on the Central Coast allowing you to choose a location to suit you. We can also offer group programs of your choice run at your retirement village, club or parish group.

Our groups are run by highly experienced and trained facilitators who each bring a warm and inviting atmosphere ensuring you receive the best outcomes for your health and wellbeing. The programs combine science and social activity and are run by experienced specialist facilitators to ensure you get the best outcomes for your health and wellness and include:

LET’S GET MOVING

A group exercise class catering to all fitness and mobility levels. The exercises are designed to improve your cardiovascular fitness, strength and balance in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

BRAIN GAMES

enhancing the wellness of seniors

Depending on what day you drop into our Memory Innovations Centre classes you might see seniors exercising, creating masterpieces or engaging in brain training exercises, but one thing’s for sure, you’ll definitely see them having fun.

We are here to help seniors and provide a range of supports.

Frequently asked questions

I am not Catholic, can I still access your service?

Yes, our service is open to all.

Am I eligible to attend your programs?

The Memory Innovations Centre was set up by CatholicCare to assist people who may be noticing changes in their memory, You may have been diagnosed with dementia and want to be proactive with your brain health, or just stay connected with others in the community. We will chat through some initial enquiry questions before your trial to assess suitability and to ensure your safety.

What programs do you run?

Let’s Get Moving, Brain Games and Art Smarts. We run Let’s Get Moving and Brain Games back-to-back as studies show combining exercise with brain training is more effective than either activity independently. As we age our brain has the capacity to change and grow, but we need to take an active role to stimulate new brain cells.

Can I come for a free trial?

Yes, you may come for a free trial on your first visit. Please contact us on (02) 9481 2659 to book. Some programs are at capacity so there may be a delay whilst we find an available program and timeslot to suit your needs.

What do I do If I need to cancel a class?

Please email seniors@catholiccaredbb.org.au or phone (02) 9481 2659. Please note we have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

How much do services cost?

Our services are subsidised with CHSP referral codes at $10 per session, and we can also bill Home Care Providers at $22.50. A casual session is $25 (subject to availability).

Where are you located?

We offer classes in Waitara in Northern Sydney and on the Central Coast in Erina, The Entrance and Umina Beach.

How old do I have to be?

To be eligible for a CHSP referral code you need to be 65 years, or 50 years if Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
