Operational Support Manager– Disability Futures

  • Pennant Hills location

 CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is a diverse and innovative social care provider delivering children’s services education and care, disability services, a range of family support programs and therapeutic out of home care to 20,000+ children, young people, individuals and families in Northern Metropolitan Sydney and on the NSW Central Coast.

The position is to support the Manager Disability Futures in developing business processes, resources, operational and accountability frameworks to meet delivery requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Reporting to the Manager Disability Futures your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the implementation and interpretation of the NDIS policy and practice requirements including pricing and align to operational requirements to ensure delivery of effective, efficient and compliant delivery of NDIS products and service
  • Coach staff in the successful implementation of the revised NDIS operating requirements
  • Drive the development and implementation of effective communication and change management plans to ensure that service improvement is embedded into frontline services.
  • Project management –  Coordinate internal resources to complete projects that improve the Disability Futures Team
  • Resource Planning - manage staffing levels, assist with recruitment , oversight the transfer of casual employees to a range of part time roles and assess client needs to deliver most suitable staffing
  • Service growth - build strategies and seek opportunities to enhance the program. Including developing partnerships with aligned service such as therapists, early intervention
  • Program Development - liaise with relevant sector partners and committees to identify service improvement opportunities and interagency cooperation

The key requirements for this role are:

  •          Extensive disability sector experience at manager level with a sound knowledge of the NDIS policy and operational practices
  •          Demonstrated knowledge and ability to enact the Disability Standards and Quality and Safety requirements
  •          Ability to embed a positive customer culture of service excellence amongst team members
  •          Ability to prioritise own time effectively and focus on priority project management tasks and key accountabilities
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area. E.g. Psychology, Social Work, Health or Business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy.

Supported Playgroup Worker & Group Work Leader Naremburn Family Centre

Join our vibrant faith based agency providing innovative social care services throughout Northern Metropolitan Sydney and the NSW Central Coast. Our Naremburn Family Centre delivers a range of programs including Financial Counselling; Family and Youth Support; Northern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy and Support; and the South Eastern and Northern Sydney Family Referral Service. We are currently seeking a part time Supported Playgroup Worker.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with vulnerable children and families
  • Working in a playgroup environment with children under the age of 5
  • Providing professional and informed advice on parenting and child development.
  • Promote and coordinate group work programs for groups run by the Naremburn Family Support team
  • Assist with casework , writing support letters, provide referral advice and assist the wider team of case workers.

 The key requirements for this role are:

  • Experience working in a playgroup or childcare setting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field
  • Experience working with people from CALD background.
  • Highly developed communication and time management skills.
  • Client service focus, integrity and a commitment to teamwork
  • Must hold valid Working with Children Check Clearance

Outside School Hours Care is a career which is both rewarding and fun with the opportunity to work in a creative way with school age children. CatholicCare is an experienced and rapidly growing provider of high quality before and after school, and vacation care. Our Warnervale Outside School Hours Care requires a Coordinator to cover a maternity leave absence for a maximum of 6 months. The Coordinator will: 

  • Develop and implement programs for children aged 5 – 12 years in Before School Care and After School Care and Vacation Care
  •  Provide leadership and direction to staff
  •  Ensure that all policies, procedures and legal/regulatory frameworks are adhered to
  •  Build relationships with children, their families and school executive and staff 
  •  Carry out administration requirements of the service
  •  Oversee the implementation of and adherence to relevant law, regulations and National Quality Framework including ‘My Time Our Place’ 
  • Grow the service 

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Experience in managing and developing a team
  • An innovative, motivated and passionate approach to creating quality education and care settings for children aged 5-12
  • Sound understanding of the National Law & Regulations, National Quality Framework including “My Time Our Place” framework
  • Preferably Diploma Qualifications in Outside School Hours Care (or equivalent Child Care Qualifications) or significant experience
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to build sound networks in the school and community
  • Ability to manage budgets and sound administration skills

The Central Coast Family Centre provides a range of community based social care programs including family and parenting services, counselling and mediation, relationship education, domestic and family violence support and homelessness support.  The Coordinator role supervises two programs;

  • KEYS – a program providing young parents with homelessness support and prevention initiatives for 16-24 year olds, and
  • Mary Macs Place at Woy Woy - a program providing meals, laundry and hygiene facilities as well as referrals to wrap around  services to those in need.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting staff to provide strength based, client focused, trauma informed case management
  • Managing budgets, compliance and reporting requirements for the programs
  • External stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Building team cohesion and linkages to other internal services
